Field Trips & Special Visitors
Our Pre-K, Early- K and School Age classes go on field trips multiple times per year. During the school year, our children enjoy trips to farms, the theater and local museums. We engage in conversations about nature, our culture, science and the arts.
Our children enjoy riding the school bus on field trips, some for the very first time. This helps our future Kindergartners feel comfortable on the bus for their first day of school!
We also enjoy visits from community helpers as well as parents that may want to talk the children about their profession. Some of our visitors include the local fire department, Perinton Ambulance, the dentist, Seneca Park Zoo and the Magic Guy.
Ms. Katie Morey visits our classrooms once weekly on Tuesday mornings to provide musical enrichment to our students. We use finger songs, dance movements, call and response, and seasonally themed songs to foster a chance for children to develop a love of music and self-expression through movement.
Why music? Other than fun, music has been proven to help enhance a child's coordination, provide opportunities to improve language development, increase focus and memory, improve understanding in the basics of mathematics, foster teamwork, and increase self-confidence and self-esteem!
Creative Kids Yoga classes promote learning the practice of yoga in a fun and creative way through the use of games, songs and props. From sun salutation to savasana, the energy-filled classes teach children how to focus, be calm and stay positive through a variety of poses and movements while helping build strength, improve motor skills and create self-awareness.
Yoga is conveniently offered during the school day. Parents are invited to observe at our demo day and at our end of year presentation.
